Charlotte County Speedway Welcomes FASTRUC KS | PUNTA GORDA, Fla. The rains from Tropical Storm Henri were gone by Saturday, but the parking lot at Charlotte County Speedway remained flooded, forcing owner/promoter LeRoy Davidson to cancel the Sept. 6 racing program.
It was the latest of numerous cancellations this wet summer at the Punta Gorda paved oval.
With dry weather moving in this week, the speedway looks forward to getting on with the second half of its racing season.
This Saturday nights schedule will be highlighted by a return appearance by the FASTRUCK Series. FASTRUCK was able to squeeze onto the CCS schedule after it was canceled at another truck. Also high on the bill will be a 50-lapper by the speedways Sportsman Division.
Other divisions on what proves to be an exciting night of racing include Limited Late Model, Super Stock, Thunder Truck, Road Warrior and 4-Cylinder.
Qualifying will begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and $8 for children ages 11 and under.
Charlotte County Speedway is located off Exit 161 of I-75 on Piper Road in Punta Gorda. For more information, call 575-RACE (7223). Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! or send a letter to the editor!
