Pro Mods Return to Orlando SpeedWorld after Rainout last Weekend, Spectacular II on for Saturday

by Jane Smith

Bithlo, Fla (September 10, 2003) Orlando SpeedWorld returns to racing action this Friday night (at least hopefully) with the rescheduled Pro Modified 50 lapper and all regular FASCAR divisions except for the Open Wheel Modifieds.

Jerry Symons of New Smyrna leads the Pro Modified Series in points as they come into Friday night's action. The Pro Mods have seen little racing this season and far too many rainouts due to the weather. From Lakeland's USA International to Citrus County Speedway, rain seemed to follow the guys.

Alan McCafferty comes in second and has a win under his belt and will surely be strong at SpeedWorld. Skip Honaker, from nearby Titusville, comes in third and knows SpeedWorld well. Jim "Hoot" Flynn and D.J. Hoelze round out the top five.

Red Vann, Alan Bruns, Jason Boyd, Bryan Campbell, and Raymond Vann round out the top ten. Qualifying for the Pro Mod 50 Lap feature will be at 6:30 p.m.

B.J. McLeod and Rusty Ebersole are once again tied in the Super Late Model points battle and will surely put on another great show as they battle this Friday. These two are best of friends and have shown that friends can race each other clean and have alot of fun. Along with the Super Lates will be the Sportsman, Super Stock, Mini Stock and Strictly Stock as they all fight for their division championships.

On Saturday, the 13th, Spectacular II will return after their rainout last Saturday. Along with the Classic Auto Racing Series will be the Mod Lites, Pro Challenge, TQ Late Models, Mini Cup, Legends and Bandit and Young Gun Bandoleros.

Grandstand admission for Saturday night's racing will be $5.00, children eleven and under are FREE. Pit admission is $20.00.

Orlando SpeedWorld racing action will start at 8 p.m. on Friday night with qualifying for the Pro Mod 50 lapper at 6:30 p.m. depending on car count. Orlando SpeedWorld is located between SR50 and SR520 in Bithlo, Florida.
