CHARLOTTE COUNTY SPEEDWAY BACK IN ACTION FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Charlotte County Speedway will return to action from a 40-day summer break with a multi-faceted racing program scheduled for Saturday night, Aug. 30.

The racing show featuring the Fastruck Series and the first appearance by non-winged sprint cars in Punta Gorda in many moons will be a great way to kick off the Labor Day weekend.

Besides the trucks and sprints, all four regular stock car divisions will also race. Those include Super Stocks, Road Warriors, Thunder Trucks and 4-Cylinders. The second half of the points season will begin for those regular racing divisions.

Qualifying will start at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow immediately afterwards.

Admission to the program is $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and $8 for children ages 11 and under.

Charlotte County Speedway, a 3/8-mile paved oval, is located off Exit 161 (old 28) of I-75 on Piper Road in Punta Gorda. For more information, call 575-RACE (7223).
