Florida Welterweight Racing Association begins 2003 Season this weekend at Orlando SpeedWorld | The time has finally arrived for the racing season to begin at Orlando Speedworld for the Florida Welterweight Racing Association (www.fwrainc.com)! This Friday night, April 25th, starts the regular monthly program of racing on the fourth Friday of the month. Beginning the Saturday of the following week, May 3rd, the new Welterweight Racing Series will have its inaugural start at Orlando Speedworld. This is for all scale divisions (other than full sized race cars) and promises to be extremely entertaining, as both FWRA divisions run lap times faster than the Late Models and Limited Late Models.
The track opens at 4:00PM and racing starts at 8:00PM. You can enter the pits as early as you want, but everyone is chased out at 4:00 PM to pay the pit fee and be "tagged".
Both the Modified Lites and the Florida Pro Challenge divisions of FWRA are looking forward to an exciting night of fast-paced and very competitive action. Kyle Nicholas, 14 years old, and Tyler David, 16 years old, in the Pro Challenge cars, are giving the more experienced drivers a fit as they compete for a win in their 3/4 scale Winston Cup styled car and Craftsman Truck styled pickup truck. The Modified Lites have had three different winners in the first three races this year, so the competition is very keen and noone is running away with the series.
Gather your family and friends and come out this Friday evening and watch (or compete in) some very fast and competitive races.
