Super Stock 50 Lapper this weekend at New Smyrna Speedway | by Jane Smith
Samsula, Fla (April 23, 2003) - The hard charging Super Stocks at New Smyrna Speedway will be featured this weekend, April 26, in a 50 lap special. These guys go tooth and nail for 15 laps so be prepared for plenty of beating and banging action for 50 laps.
Ron Whaley goes into the 50 lap feature leading the points race with 180 points. Whaley was last week's winner after having a bad night at New Smyrna Speedway's sister track Orlando SpeedWorld. Whaley did not make the heat race but did get to the track in time to take the win in the feature.
Second in points for the Super Stocks is Josh Wronkowski who is having a really good year so far. Wronkowski has won several races and looks to be a real contender also for the championship. Orr, who brought back his dad's famous Horsen Around paint scheme, has his eyes set on the championship but right behind Orr is Brian Bellaw with 76 points and a very good car this year. Bellaw, the 2002 Late Model Champion, also would like to do a repeat championship.
Mark Smith stands third in points just 4 points ahead of Dave Green in fourth. Larry Osteen rounds out the top five with 40 points. Tim Clark, Kenny Crites, Bruce Lawrence, Jr., Charlie Merz and Donald Hess round out the top ten.

Leading the points for the Mini Stock division is Tim "Missileman" McPhail who won last weekend and whose sponsor sponsored the $50.00 gift certificate giveaway for the kids at the track for Easter.
