Orr congtinues to lead Late Model points at New Smyrna

by Rick Bristol

Orlando Fl. - Bobby Orr continued his chase for the Late Model Championship Satirday night at New Smyrna Speedway with a win in the heat and a solid fourth place finish in the feature. Orr blasted from his pole position in the heat and led all the way to take the win.

In the feature event Orr was held up on the start as the outside line got the jump. After clearing those cars Orr reeled in third place running Bruce Lawrence Jr. but ran out of laps to make the pass.

After the event Orr said" The car was was good, I just got stuck in the traffic too long it hurt us". Orr is redoing the #30 to be the colors of his dads Horsen Around car of old and a special roof decal in honor of his late father Pete Orr.

"I wanted to do this for my dad and for all his friends and fans as a tribute, I miss him alot" added Orr. Orr continues to lead the points and is aiming hard at the 2003 championship. Late Models will be off this week at New Smyrna but back in action on the 19th.
