Charlotte County: Second Late Model 100

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Charlotte County Speedway’s own Late Model division will hog the spotlight on Saturday night, April 19, with its second 100-lap race of the season. Lap qualifying will take place at 6:30 p.m. that night.

The Late Models ran their inaugural 100-lapper on March 8. Winning that race was Joe Sumasky of Lehigh Aces. Bobby Beauchemin of Hollywood was second and Billy Bigley Jr. of Naples third.

This time around should once again be very competitive with drivers shooting for the lion’s share of the $11,800 total purse.

In addition to the Late Models, the Open Wheel Modifieds will also run Regular divisions Super Stocks, Road Warriors and Thunder Trucks are also slated to take to the Punta Gorda 3/8-mile paved oval.

There will also be fan participation drags. Fans are invited to bring their street cars out and participate in oval eliminations.

The gates will open at 4 p.m. an racing will begin at 7 p.m.

Admission will be $15 for adults and $12 for senior citizens. Kids 11 and under are $7.
