Sunbelt Super Late Models Postponed At Charlotte | The FASCAR Sunbelt Late Model Series race scheduled at Charlotte County Speedway for April 26th is being rescheduled at a later date due to possible conflicts with other series.
LeRoy Davidison told KARNAC.com he became aware of a Florida Pro Series late model race at Hialeah Speedway on the same date and felt the "right thing to do was cancel that date and try and find a better date".
One date that was possible for Charlotte County had to be abandoned by FASCAR in order to not conflict with a Bronson Motor Speedway race. Late July is being talked about as a possible replacement date but nothing is firm at this point.
While many race fans have been upset of late over big stock car shows being scheduled on top of each other, both Davidson and FASCAR Race Director Dick Westfall are working in the direction of preventing that dueing the course of this year.
As Davidson pointed out, "Sometimes you just have to do the right thing", referring to the postponement of the race date.
Charlotte County Speedway fans are eager to have the Sunbelt Late Models back, especially in light of the new pavement and other changes occuring at the speedway in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Meanwhile the FASCAR Sunbelt Super Late Models will be the headliner for the huge April 12 show at USA International Speedway. The show also will include the GoodYear Challenge Series Late Models and the FASTRUCKS.
Charlotte County Speedway will feature the FASTRUCKS on the 26th of April. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! or send a letter to the editor!
