USCS invades Ocala Speedway on April 4th | OCALA, Fla. (March 24, 2003) - The United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" Tour will make it's next stop on Friday April 4th at the newly renovated Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida. This will be the first ever visit to the challenging 3/8 mile semi-banked asphalt tri-oval for the drivers of nationally touring winged outlaw sprint car series. USCS is the only winged sprint series in the World that races on paved and dirt ovals. This will be the second of forty races in nine states for the series.
The USCS contingent will be led by 2001 and 2002 USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tennessee and 2000 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Driver of the Year, and 2000 USCS National Champion, Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida. Adams is the seven year old series' all time leading feature winner and holds the track record at almost every speedway the USCS has visited. Adams just won the 2003 USCS season opener at Mobile (Alabama) International Speedway on March 22nd.
USCS founder and President, Pete Walton said "I would not be suprised if we see a new all time track record at Ocala Speedway. We time trial at every asphalt event and our guys expecially Adams take real pride in holding track records."
Several well known mid Florida area drivers race with USCS, including 2001 TBARA Champion, Wayne Reutimann from Zephyrhills,Florida, who is chasing the USCS title in 2003 are entered. Wayne Reutimann, Jr. who finished in second place in the USCS Asphalt Thunder standings in 2002 and was named 2002 USCS "Asphalt Thunder" pavement series top rookie as well.
