Rick Bristol Named New Announcer at Orlando SpeedWorld and NSS

by Jane Smith
Samsula, FL - Team FASCAR is proud to announce that Rick Bristol has been named the new announcer for both Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway.

Bristol, well known throughout the Florida racing community, was the co-promoter at Thundercross Motorsports Complex before joining Team FASCAR as the new announcer.

Bristol said, "I am excited to come back to where I really got started. I will work hard to give the drivers good PR and to give the fans a professional exciting and informative show."

Bristol comes to Team FASCAR with plenty of announcing experience as he co-announced with Dave Westerman at Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway from 1987 to 1992. He also has announced at Sunshine Speedway and for the Florida Pro Series from 1992 to 1999.

"Sunday, February 23, Bristol was the guest announcer at the IceBuster 2003 at New Smyrna Speedway and did such a good that we had to ask him to be the permanent announcer," said Don Nerone, promoter for New Smyrna Speedway. "Team FASCAR is proud to add Rick Bristol to our team" Nerone added.

Orlando SpeedWorld will open their 2003 racing season on March 14 with a Pro Modified 50 Lapper, FASTRUCKS, Sportsman, Super Stocks, and Strictly Stocks. New Smyrna Speedway will open their 2003 race season on March 15 with the first time appearance of the FAST SPRINTS, FASTRUCKS, Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks, and Strictly Stocks.

Racing action begins at Orlando SpeedWorld at 8 p.m. and at New Smyrna Speedway at 7:30 p.m.
