C.A.R.S. Motorsports Announces 2003 Plans | by Rick Bristol
Orlando, Fla - C.A.R.S. Motorsports owner Rick Bristol announced today his team's plans for 2003. After a championship season in 2002 at Orlando SpeedWorld with driver Bobby Orr, the plans will change a bit in 2003.
The team plans for Bobby Orr to drive the opening night on March 14th at Orlando SpeedWorld as the defending champion, but then Bobby has a new Late Model deal driving for Bobby McClelland with help from Mike Murphy. That will be his main focus this season.
"I am very happy for Bobby, we set those goals 2 years ago for him and it has worked out great. I wish him the best and will still be involved in doing his PR and team promotions" said Bristol.
After night one it will be a mix of drivers behind the wheel of the #30 car including Rick himself, former C.A.R.S. driver Carl Green will jump behind the wheel again for some events and former SpeedWorld Champion Mila Vidic a veteran Mini-Stock driver will drive some events also. Don't be surprised to see some other drivers and some new young talent behind the wheel of Bristol's car.
"We plan to run some different folks this year in our car and I will race a bit, we jus want to have fun with it. We will also run some FMCS races with Bobby later in the year as well" added Rick. "I am also looking into some deals to rent the car out and even do some driving experience deals, that will be announced later".
The car has been all freshly redone and the engines are being done by veteran Bobby Sears. "I am so glad to have Bobby Sears doing my motors, he did a great job stepping in for us last year and builds a great piece".
The team will have Inst-Gators Landscaping back as an associate sponsor in 2003, all others are under negotiation and will be announced soon.
