2019 FASTRAK World Championship will Pay $50,000 to Win

At the annual FASTRAK Night of Champions, which saw a crowd of over 200 attendees, Virginia Motor Speedway representative Dave Seay announced a total purse of $158,075 for the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway. The winner of the richest Chevrolet Performance Late Model event ever will be awarded $50,000. The event will coincide with the celebration of the Jamaica, VA track’s 50th anniversary.

“We want to take Pro Late Model racing, with FASTRAK, to the next level” said Seay, “We hope that you’ll make plans now to be there for the 2019 FASTRAK World Championship.”

The 2019 FASTRAK World Championship will pay $2,050 to start and feature non-qualifiers races for those not making the feature event. The goal is to have more cars competing for money, in what is already considered the biggest stage in Chevrolet Performance Late Model racing. The 2017 FASTRAK World Championship saw 71 cars compete for a spot in the 24-car field.

“There has never been a $50,000 to win race for Pro Late Models,” said FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester, “Virginia Motor Speedway will always hold that title and I can’t thank Bill Sawyer enough.”

Additionally, a change for the 2018 FASTRAK World Championship was announced. This season will see more drivers given the opportunity to race for money with the addition of at least one non-qualifiers race. More non-qualifiers races could be added, depending on the number of participants. The program will be all late models, the final format will be announced at a later date.

The FASTRAK World Challenge, a $5,000 to win race for FASTRAK members only, will still take place on the Friday before the FASTRAK World Championship. Members must compete in a minimum of ten FASTRAK sanctioned events to be eligible for the World Challenge.
The 2018 FASTRAK World Challenge is scheduled for September 14th and the $20,000 to win 2018 FASTRAK World Championship is September 15th. The rain date is scheduled for September 16th.

Big Frog Motorsports Expands for 2018

Devin Dixon and Riley Hickman to Lead the Team’s Charge into New Territory

Ocala, Florida (01/31/18) – With the 2018 season screaming onto the scene at full speed, Big Frog Motorsports is entering a brave new era of its existence.

The team enters the new campaign with a new focus, new drivers, and an ambitious plan.

“I’ve taken full ownership of the team,” Big Frog Motorsports’ Augie Burttram commented. “We’ve also brought Carl Sherwood with M&W Transport on board as a principal sponsor, and that’s allowing us to really expand our program. Devin Dixon will continue to be our primary driver, but we also will be fielding an entry for Riley Hickman at some events later in the season.”

The team will utilize Clements Racing Engines in their XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model entries.

Fresh off his Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Championship with Big Frog Motorsports in 2017, Florida’s Devin Dixon will embark into new territory in 2018. The plan is to have Dixon contend for the Rookie of the Year title and Championship on both the Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals and Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals tours.

“I’ve done some open engine stuff over the past few years, but I’ve never really focused on it solely, and that’s exactly what we are going to do this season,” Dixon noted. “I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to having Riley (Hickman) to bounce ideas and notes off. This is going to be a fun season.”

For Hickman, he’s looking forward to entering events with Big Frog Motorsports, when not competing in his own entry.

“This is a cool deal to be able to drive for Augie (Burttram) in some races this season,” Hickman said. “He’s got some really good equipment, and it’s an honor anytime that someone asks you to drive their hot rod. Hopefully this deal will work out great for all of us.”

The team plans to officially kick off their 2018 season on Friday and Saturday during the annual Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia). The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned affair posts a $10,000 top prize on Friday and a $20,000 winner’s check on Saturday.

For more information on the events, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .

Burttram is honest about the team’s goals for the upcoming, ambitious season.

“This has been the ultimate goal for myself and team crew chief Mike Rey since we started this team,” Burttram stated. “Now the ball is in our court to make it a success. It’s going to be a big challenge for sure, but I’m pumped for the opportunity.”

Big Frog Motorsports would like to thank their principal and associate sponsors including Dave’s Towing, Big Frog Shocks, Ocala Tractor, Southway Crane Service, M&W Transport, FK Rod Ends, Schaeffers Oil, Racecar Engineering, Wilwood Brakes, Keyser Manufacturing, Rocket Chassis, Sunoco Race Fuels, Clements Racing Engines, Integra Shocks, Hoosier Race Tire by Brian, Daytona Sensors LLC, Schoenfeld Headers, COMP Cams, AR Bodies, Vahlco Wheels, Leaf Firesuits, JE Pistons, Red Line Oil, NGK Spark Plugs, Fast Shafts, Callies Race Products, Superior Bearings, Ferrea Valves, Butlerbuilt Seats, C&R Racing, Leaf Racewear, Collins Signs & Trophies and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.
