TJ Duke tops FASTRUCKS at CCMP

Punta Gorda, FL...It was a full night of racing at the Charlotte County Motorsports Park with eight divisions going at it on Lee Memorial Health Systems night. The Oulaw Modifieds ran two heats races for eight laps each with . Rick Mills was the polesitter for the first heat race. Mills led the first half of the race before Doug Hooper took over the lead on lap five and went on to take the win in the first heat. Harold Perry on the pole for the second heat race. Harold Perry would lead until lap three before Billy Campbell would take over the lead.

After the lead change Harold Perry and Kevin Campbell got tangled up together in turn one and both cars spun out. Billy Campbell would go on to take to win in the second heat race. The Open Wheel Modifieds also ran two heat races with Danny Brown leading the field to the start of the first eight lap heat race. Troy Robinson grabbed the lead once the green flag was out.

Lap two Mike Loney spun out in turn three and two laps later Collin Cabre spun his machine around in turn one. Troy Robinson took the victory in the first heat. FOr the second heat race Scott McDaniel sat on the pole. Once the race started Doug Moff put his car out front and led the entire caution free heat and took the win. The Bandolero's were the first feature race of the evening with the class running twelve laps. Ryan Shattuck sat on the pole with Shawn Hooven grabbing the lead at the start of the race. Shawn and his brother Mark battled side by side for several laps.

On laps seven Reese Chase spun out in turn four, but kept his car going which prevented a caution. Meanwhile the Hooven brothers were still going at it and on the final lap Shawn Hooven was able to hold off his big brother Mark for the win. Mark Hooven came in second and Ryan Shattuck finished in third.

Derrick Horton was the polesitter for the twenty five lap feature for the Mini Stocks. Robert Carter grabbed the lead at the start of the race. It would take twelve laps for Jesse Dultilly to make his way up to the second spot.

Dutilly has been the guy to beat all year long in the class and by lap thirteen he was sitting himself up for another win. Dutilly was never able to pull away from Joshua Carbone and Robert Carter who were battling for second an third. Jesse Dutlilly was able to pull off another victory with Joshua Carbone coming in second and Robert Carter had to settle for third.

Darin Cooker set fast time in qualifying for the Legend cars with a lap time of 17.200. Coker started fifth while Mike Fazio sat on the pole for the twenty five lap race.

On the start Zack Napoleon spun his car around on the frontstretch just as the green flag waved. On the restart Gerald Campbell and Darin Coker had gotten together coming out of turn four and the contact sent Campbell spinning.

Finally, the second restart was good and Josh Williams took the lead on the start. Only one lap would get completed before the caution would wave again. This time Mike Fazio and Mark Hooven got together in turn four, that sent Mike Fazio spinning out in turn four and Mark Hooven on the frontretch. The rest of the race ran caution free and Josh Williams claimed another Legends victory. Fast Qualifier Darin Coker was second and Devin McLeoad completed the top three spots.

The Outlaw Modifieds were next for there thiry lap race with Doug Hooper on the pole and jumped to the lead as the green flag waved. The only caution to come out was on lap twenty four when Antonio Gonzalez and Zack Rudd made contact with one another in turn one. Both cars stopped on the top of turn one and where able to keep there cars off the wall. Doug Hooper still held the lead when the race resumed. Doug Hooper would come out on top and take the win with Billy Campbell in second and Cliff Steinman in third.

Junior's Trim Shop Road Warriors ran a twenty five lap feature with Jon Prescott leading the field to the start of the race. Jon Prescott led the first six laps before the first pass for the lead occured the following lap with Mike Crooks taking over the top spot. After Crooks took over the lead the first caution came out for Jeff Firestine, who had came to a stop in turn four.

Two laps later Jeff Gustafson drove into the side of Dean Butrum and Steve Elder going into turn one and all three cars went spinning. Logan Leonard made a run for the lead on lap eleven and made the pass successfully the following lap.

Jon Prescott and Steve Elder got together in turn two on lap seventeen and both cars came to a stop and brought out another caution. Mike Crooks and Chris Loney were battling for the second position on lap twnety when Crooks had gotten into the side of Loney's car and sent him spinning in turn four. Logan Leonard took the win for the Junior's Trim Shop Road Warriors with Chris Loney and Jeff Firestine completed the top three spots.

Troy Robinson sat on the pole for the thirty five lap Q Auto Injury Attorny's Open Wheel Modifieds feature. Doug Moff picked up where he left off in the heat race earlier and took the lead at the beginning of the race. However Moff would only hold the lead until lap four when LB Skaggs took over the position.

Doug Miller had gotten into the rear of Collin Cabre's car in turn one and looping around Cabre. On the restart Doug Miller gotten into Danny Brown going into turn one, that sent Brown spinning into turn one. With two laps remaing Mike Loney's motor let go and oiled up the track. LB Skaggs took home the win with Doug Moff taking second place and Troy Robinson took home the third spot.

The Sportsman were back to run there fifty lap feature with Brandon Morris setting fast time in qualifying with a time of 16.213 and Mark Peterson was put on the pole. Perterson led the first lap before Aaron Williamson passed him for the lead on lap two. Josh Calvert brought out the first caution when he failed to obey the back flag for a long piece of pipe that was sticking out on the side of his car on lap three.

Two laps later Josh Calvert brought out the caution again when he spun out and slid into the infield on the frontstretch. On lap twenty one Josh Calvert spun his car around in turn three. Since it was his third caution of the evening he was sent to the pits and ending his evening. Donnie Ollie Jr slid up into the side of Mark Peterson in turn four, on lap thirty three and brought out the last caution. Both cars spun out and collected John Garrett. Aaron Williamson took the win with Brandon Morris in second and Timmy Lowe coming in the third spot.

In the last race of the evening, Tyler Laing set fast time in qualifying for the Fastruck Touring Series with a lap time of 16.294. Josh Williams sat on the pole for the fifty lap feature. Gerald Campbell spun out in turn four before the first lap was completed. TJ Duke took the lead as the green flag waved for the restart. Tommy King had gotten into the back of Jessica Green's truck in turn one and sent Green spinning and collecting Gerald Campbell.

On the restart Josh Williams turned into the side of Ross Chastain's truck going into turn one. Chastain went spinning up the track and hit the turn one wall on the driver's side. Thankfully Ross Chastain escaped unharmed, but his torn up bad enough to end his evening. Josh Williams was disqualified for rough driving. TJ Duke still held the lead on the restart and the caution would not come out again until lap twenty three. Shane Leonard had spun out Chris Huntoon coming out of turn four.

On lap thirty two Jessica Green made contact with Chris Huntoon going into turn one and the contact sent Green spinning. On the restart Jessica Green made it three wide going into turn one and she made contact with Mike Burns and Tommy King and they both came to a stop at the top of turn one. On the restart Tyler Laing challenged TJ Duke for the lead and his successfully passed Duke for the position on lap thiry three.

It looked as Tyler Ling was going to walk away with the win and then with two laps remaining his truck slowed coming out of turn four and TJ Duke took back the lead. By the time they got to turn one Tyler Laing's truck came back to power, but it was too late and Laing could not catch Duke. TJ took the win with Tyler Laing finishing in second and Shane Leonard was third.
