Charlie Montgomery Wins the Truck Feature Race at ASA Sanctioned Desoto Super Speedway
By Tom Blakeley
September 5,2009 Bradenton, FL It was a light crowd and car count at the South’s Fastest Short Track tonight. The fans that came saw some first class racing and were able to be home to watch NASCAR on TV. Desoto is known for the tightly organized race slots as it always attempts to get the fans their money’s worth but in a timely manner. Tonight they out did themselves and the races were over in slightly more than two hours time. The entire staff working in sync to move from one race to the next and the wrecks were towed off in remarkable time, it was a good night.
Pro Trucks. Charlie Montgomery in the #12 truck came to race and he took the checkered flag for the 50 lap feature race tonight. He had some real competition from the get go. Lau’s first time ever in the truck and he took second place and was on Montgomery’s bumper the last 8 laps. Michael Smith in the #23 truck took third place and drove a great race as well. Rounding out the top five were Nick Hernandez in the #37 truck in fourth place, and Lance Dubach in the #77 truck in fifth place.
