David Steele Wins the TBARA Feature Race at ASA Sanctioned Desoto Super Speedway
By Tom Blakeley
August 29, 2009, Bradenton FL. It was a really hot and sticky night, but the fans came out and so did the big names of the TBARA Winged Sprints. They wasted no time getting after it either, the first heat race of 8 laps was won by Troy DeCaire in his #68 car. The second heat race was won by David Steele in the #14 car. The cars seemed faster than ever before as the temperatures seemed to stay hot all night.
The feature event was a 30 lapper and David Steele again took the checkered flag and went to victory circle. Shane Butler in the #18 car ran a great race and won 2nd place and Jimmy Alvis in the #66 car took third. Rounding out the top 5 were Steve Heisler in the #81 car in fourth while Dude Teate in the #0 car won fifth place. The TBARA Sprint cars are the best show in the state bar none. David Steele started last and by lap 5 was in the lead, now that is some passing talent. The TBARA Sprints return to ASA Sanctioned Desoto Super Speedway on September 19th.
Also running tonight were the Flyin 4’s with Alex Patten in the #13 car and Rob Boos in the #21 xar winning heat races. Winning the feature race was Rob Boos in the #21 with Randy Johnson in the #01 car taking second. Alex Patten in the #13 car won third place in this feature 20 lap race.
Magic 4’s also ran a heat race which was won by Dallas Troyer in the #01 car. The feature 20 lap race was won Mark Bartimac in the #21 car with Brittany Barr in the #81 car taking a second place finish that was disputed so much that there was an officials meeting held after the race to try and straighten out all the ill feelings of the drivers and parents. Dallas Troyer in the #01 car took third place.
Pure Stocks. Troy Thiem in the #18 car won the heat race and the feature race tonight. Austin Craig in the #10 carcame in second and Robert Crisp in the #00 car third, in the 25 lap feature event.
