Scott Grossenbacher wins Late Model 100 at Charlotte

Punta Gorda, FL...Twenty Five cars took to the start of the One Hundred lap Late Model race with Scott Grossenbacher leading the field around to the start of the race. Once the green flag waved Scott Grossenbacher put his car out front. Jeremy Gerstner,Bob Regula and Martin Maresca all brought out the first caution on lap two when all three cars made contact on the backstretch.
On the restart of the race Corey Callum had gotten into the back of Casey Caudill's car in turn four, this sent Caudill spinning. Tuffy Hester came to a stop on the top of turn three in lap seventeen brining out another cautions.
On lap fourty one Casey Caudill spun out by himself coming out of turn four collecting Corey Callum, who had nowhere to go and T-boned the side of Caudill's car. Ross Chastain and Steve Dorer got together on the frontstretch on lap eighty, the contact sent Dorer spinning to the bottom of the track.
The final caution came out for Steve Gill when he came to a stop on the top of turn four with six laps remaining. Joe Winchell pressured Scott Grossenbacher for most of the race for the lead, but was unsuccessful. Scott Grossenbacher lead the entire one hundred lap feature and winning his first Late Model race this season at CCMP. Joe Wincehll settled for second with Gary Padula finishing in third.
The first feature race of the evening was the Bandolero's running a twelve lap feature with Matthew Green starting on the pole position. On the start of the race Michael Atwell spun his car around in turn four, and Tyler Huntoon spun out his car trying to avoid hitting Atwell.
On the restart of the race Mark Hooven took the lead with Taylor McFadden glued to his bumper. The only race caution waved on lap nine when Reese Chase got into Michael Atwell's car in turn four.
AS the caution came out the leaders Mark Hooven and Taylor McFadden got into each other on the frontstretch. McFadden was able to continue, but the night eneded for Reese Chase, Michael Atwell and Mark Hooven.
On the restart of the race Taylor McFadden and Shawn Hooven battled for the lead for the last three laps and Taylor McFadden edged out Shawn Hooven for the victory. Shawn Hooven took home the second spot and Matthew Green finished in the third position.
Michael Simmons was the polesitter for the twenty five lap Fab 4 feature race. Brandon Scott took the lead from Simmons once the green flag waved.
Vinnie Urbanowski brought out the first caution on the fourth lap when he spun his car out inbetween turns one and two. Lap ten seen another caution brought upon Jeremy Perkins for getting into the back of Michael Simmon's car in the frontstretch which caused Simmons to spin out.
On the restart Kyle Rice got into the back of Tony Shore's car with both cars spinning in turn three and collecting Brent Drake. Brandon Scott went on to win his first feature race in the Fab 4 class. Vinnie Urbanowski came in second with Tony Shore coming in third.
The CCMP Drafting Karts returned to CCMP for some drafting fun for their twenty lap feature. On the start of the race Zeb Davis spun his kart out in the bottom of turn two, which collected Kelli Burns. On the restart of the race Darin Coker took the lead.
The first race caution came on lap one with Brian Scherrer, Zeb Davis and kelli Burns all getting together in turn three and all spinning out. the following lap Eddie Brilhante and Andy Leserragetting together and spinning out in turn one.
Andy Leserra got into the side of Kelli Burns kart on lap fourteen and spinning Burn's around in turn one. On the restart Rusty Chancey got into the leader Darin Coker and spun Coker out in turn four. Darin Coker led until the final lap before JD Cordon made a last lap pass for the win. JD Codon took home another victory for the Drafting Karts with Darin Coker and Jason Gallini completing the top three.
It was a race full of cautions for the twenty five lap Legends race with Mike Fazio on the pole. Fazio took the top spot once the green flag waved. The first caution came out for Zach Napoleon when he spun his car around inbwtween turns three and four. Darin Coker challenged Make Fazio for the lead on the restart with the two cars side by side for a few laps before Darin Coker took over the lead.
On lap nine Gerald Campbell lost control of his car and went spinning in the bottom of turn one. Brady Marshall brought out the next caution three laps later when his car cpun around in turn two. Zach Napoleon spun his car around again on lap fourteen in turn two.
On the restart Mark Hooven's car fell of the pace and came to a stop on the bottom of the frontstretch. The final caution came out on lap nineteen when Gerald Campbell spun his car out in turn three. Once again Darin Coker was leading the race on the final lap and this time Josh Williams passed Coker in turn two coming to the Checkers. Josh Williams claimed the victory with Devin Mcleod edging out Darin Coker for the second spot, Coker came in the third position.
Dan Ohlyer was on the pole for the Pro 4 twenty five lap feature event. On the start of the race John Rizzo spun out in the bottom of turn one and Chelsea Lajoie spun her car around coming to the caution in turn four. Once the race got restarted Dan ohlyer took the early lead before Kevin Underwood would take the top spot from Ohleyer on lap three. The only race caution came out for the exhaust pipe falling off of the leaders car in turn four. Kevin Underwood took the win for the Pro 4 division with Derrick Horton finishing in second and John Pummel Jr finishing in third.
The always entertaining Road Warrior division was next out for their twenty five lap feature with Brandon Kolz leading them to the green. Brandon Kolz led the first twenty two laps before Jeff Firestine took over the lead amd stayed their.
On the same lap the first caution came out for Scott Anderson when he looped his car around in turn four. The following lap saw a three way battle for the second spot with Brandon Kolz, Logan Leonard and Chris Loney. The cars were three wide coming out of turn two when they all made contact and sent Logan Leonard and Chris Loney hard into the backstretch wall. The contact ended Leonard and Loney's night, however Brandon Kolz was able to continue.
Jeff Firestine was the winner with Brandon Kolz in second and Chris Scott third. After the race was completed second place finisher Brandon Lolz was disqualified in tech for his car being a hundred pounds to light, so this handed second place to Chris Scott and third place to Jeff Pacheco.
The last race of the evening was suppose to be a fifty lap Sportsman race, however due to the 11:30 PM curfew the race had to be shorten to seven laps. Bill Vandevender jumped to the lead at the start of the race with the first caution coming out after the first lap was completed.
David Williamson got into the rear of Donnie Ollie Jr's car and spun Ollie around in turn four. On the restart Timmy Lowe lost control of his car and spun himself around in the same corner. Greg Gorniack car blew it's motor on lap two and it took a while for the broom crew to get the mess cleaning up.
Once the mess was cleaned up, the class went back to green flag racing for another three laps before another caution would wave. Andy Alan spun out his car in turn four and threw alot of dirt up onto the track. This also took awhile to clean up. With time ticking away the green flag came out yet again with Bill Vandevender still leading.
By lap seven it was 11:30 PM and the racing had to stop. Bill Vandevender took home the top spot with LJ Grimm and Brian richardson completing the top three spots.
