Barberville, FL (May 27, 2009) After a lot of much needed rain last week and pulling the plug on racing due to the inclement weather, Volusia Speedway Park returns to racing action this Saturday with STIMULUS NIGHT. Just bring your unemployment check stub and your ID and a family of four will be admitted FREE for the night. "These are very hard times for a lot of families", said General Manager Tonya Moschell. "A lot of families don't have any extra money for fun things and that can really depress anyone. Volusia Speedway Park would like to help by giving them and their family a free night of racing action fun. I know it is not much but hopefully it will help some". "We are really looking forward to this Saturday night and hope that some families will take up our offer and come and join us for a fun night at the track. At the least, it may take their minds off their problems for a few hours and have a good time. These times are hard enough on all of us but to be unemployed is the worse. Everyone needs some fun in their lives and this Saturday night will be just that, fun. We can't find you jobs but we can give you a free night at the track." On the program Saturday at Volusia Speedway Park will be the Late Models, Sportsman, Modifieds, Thunder Stock and 4 Cylinder Challengers. After two weeks off, you can be sure that racing will be hot and heavy this Saturday night. Please join us for some good old fashion short track racing on dirt with some of the greatest guys and gals in Central Florida. They go for the gusto and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat each and every race. On Saturday, May 30, the pits will open at 4:30 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5:30 pm. Racing starts at 7:30 pm. Adult grandstand admission is $10. Students ages 11-15 will be admitted for $5; children ages 10 and under are always admitted FREE. Drive-in parking is $10 per car.
Volusia Speedway Park is located 15 miles west of Ormond Beach, FL on State Road 40. Additional information and updates will be available on the website – www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com, or call 386-985-4402.
