A beautiful day greeted the Eastbay fans as they entered the track for a night of racing they won’t soon forget. With the Easter Bunny making an appearance during intermission, the staff decided to run only Feature events for the night.
The Outlaw 4’s began the evening in spectacular fashion. 3-wide racing around the track set the tone for the night. Stephen Hohlbaugh battled all race long, holding off the likes of Sean Bass, Maverick Varnadore, Amanda Rogers and Shirlene Hammond for his 2nd win if the 2009 racing season. Sean Bass finished 2nd, Shirlene Hammond 3rd, Amanda Rogers 4th and Jesse Brown 5th.
The Gagel Open-Wheel Modified’s continued exciting the capacity-filled stands with their unbelievable side-by-side action as only they can deliver. Valrico, Fl driver Shane Burrows took the early lead and never looked back, picking up his 1st win of the season. Dale Kelley started back in the 9th position, but had a good run to finish 2nd. Austin Sanders, John Bradley and Brian Hollifield rounded out the top 5.
The Motorstats.com Street Stocks had a 21 car field and everyone left it all on the racetrack. Donnie Reed from Zephryhills, Fl took the lead and held off the field for his 1st win of the 2009 racing season. Buck Skinner finished 2nd in the #55, Steve O’Lone 3rd, Jarod Gay 4th and Kevin Silva rounded out the top 5.
The Q Auto and Injury Attorney Limited Late Model Feature event was next on the track and it was Tim Gay in the #35 machine that picked up the win. He held off Alex Boerner and William Pugh who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Forrest Gough came home 4th with William Hampton rounding out the top 5.

The South Shore Auto Sales Late Models were 25 cars strong, and strong couldn’t begin to describe the racing that took place for their 30 Lap Feature Event. With one of the strongest field s ever at an Eastbay race, it was certain to be one to remember. Fan favorite David Schmauss started 3rd, but an early accident would drop him back in the field. Eastbay veteran Keith Nosbisch started 16th, but by lap 4, was running 2nd behind the #12 of Jack Nosbisch who won the previous week. They swapped the lead back and forth, running through lapped traffic in a timeless battle of the titans. Keith finally made his way around Jack to pick up his 1st win of the year. Jackie finished 2nd, Jeff Mathews 3rd, Rich Pratt 4th and Travis Varnadore rounded out the top 5.
The 4-Cylinder Bombers came down to the final turn of the final lap to decide the winner. Kyle Kruse and Bubba Prayer were both leaning hard on one another=2 0during the entire race. Prayer was the leader going into turn 3, but Kruse took one last shot at Prayer, moving him out of the way and took home the win, his 2nd of the year. Prayer crossed the stripe 2nd, but was DQ’d for aggressive driving. Jim Baker finished 2nd, George Handy 3rd, Johnnie Alexander 4th and Kever Raulerson 5th.
