BRADENTON, Fla. - TBARA point leader Troy DeCaire notched his second consecutive victory at DeSoto Super Speedway Saturday night as he copped the 30 lap main event for the winged sprint cars. Starting 12th in the 25 car field, DeCaire quickly blasted from his outside row starting position using his now familiar three wide passes to move to fifth on the first lap before the yellow waved for a crash by Joey Aguilar. Aguilar was uninjured but his car was finished for the night. On the restart it was Ben Fritz in his bright red No. 16 on the point with Brad Davis, Sonny Hartley and Kipp Beard in tow. DeCaire once again jumped to the outside on the banked 3/8 oval quickly picking off cars one by one until he motored by Fritz for the lead on lap 10. With DeCaire comfortably in front, all eyes turned to the black No. 14 of Dave Steele and he sliced and diced his way into the top five and began to close in on the fleet DeCaire. With no further yellow flags to bunch the field, Steele ran out of laps and settled for runner-up money over Shane Butler, Fritz and Beard. Completing the top 10 were Blaze Martin, Bo Hartley, Mickey Kempgens, Dakotah Stephens, and Davis. The Tampa Bay ground pounders return to DeSoto on Saturday, April 11.
