Ross Chastain back in Winner’s Circle

The Fastruck Series were back at the Charlotte County Motorsports Park this past Saturday night for a fifty lap race. Ross Chastain was the fast qualifier with a time of 16.335. Chastain started in the fourth starting spot with Michael Wear on the pole. Wear led the first three laps before Chris Huntoon took the lead from Wear. Mike Laplant brought out the first caution on lap twenty six, when his truck went spinning in the backstretch. The second and final caution came two laps later on lap twenty eight, when Stuart Robertson spun around as well. Huntoon held on to the lead until lap forty one; when Ross Chastain took over the lead and went on to capture the victory. Ricky Partridge finished second with Rocky Reinhold in his first Fastruck race, in third.
Open Wheels ran double fifteen laps dash for the cash races. Sean McLaughlin won the first dash race with Daniel Skaggs was second and Mitch Korzenski. On the second fifteen lap race Doug Miller took the win, Daniel Skaggs got another second place finish and Mitch Korzenski was third.
Jeff Pacheco started on the pole for the Road Warrior twenty five lap feature race. Chris Scott jumped to the lead at the start of the race. The race went caution free and Chris Scott was the winner. Ryan Pancoast and Jeff Rumbold completed the top three.
The Mini Cups were back for the first time in a while for a thirty five lap race. Bobby Rogers started on the pole and jumped the lead at the start of the race. Lap fourteen brought out the first caution for debris and the final caution on lap twenty five when Rick Auriemma spun out. Bobby Rogers took the victory with Frank Pfister second and Ross Chastain in third.
Dar Houghtaling started on the pole for the fifty lap race. Austin Craig led the first lap before Shane Leonard got around him for the lead on lap two. The first caution came out on the same lap when Dar Houghtaling and Mike Laplant got together and both spun out. Shane Leonard was the winner with Danny Daniels Jr coming in second and Austin Craig third.
The last race of the evening the fans were treated to a Figure Eight boat race. Mike Bialecki was the last boat standing and took the win.
This coming Saturday night is Fan Appreciation Night at the races. The admission will be slashed in half. It will be $10 to get in the front gate to watch the Road Warriors, Pro 4, Fab 4, Thunder Trucks, Mini Stock, CCMP Street Stocks, Sportsman, Figure Eight and CCMP Champ Karts.
