Burrows, Sr. Closes out 2008 in East Bay Victory Lane
A full field of race cars were in the pits for the final show of the 2008 racing season at Eastbay Raceway park.
The Limited Late Model division wrapped up their season with a “white-knuckle” finish between the #11 machine of Bobby Johns, Tim Gay and William Pugh.
Johns had led the majority of the race, but gave way to #35 Tim Gay who eventually went on to finish the winner of the 15 lap feature event. William Pugh and Doug Watson finished 2nd and 3rd. Johns held on to finish 4th and Ricky Land crossed the finish line 5th.
The Gagel Open-Wheel Modifieds featured the “father-son” teams of local favorites Buzzie and David Reutimann and Jamie and Shawn Burrows for their A-Main feature.
The familiar #11b machine of Jamie Burrows started on the pole and held off the challenges of his son Shane and NASCAR star David Reutimann for his 1st win of the 2008 racing season. David Reutimann finished 2nd and Sefner, Fl driver Jeff Mathews finished 3rd in a tough field of competitors. Shane Burrows and Buzzie Reutimann rounded out the top 5.
The Motorstats.com Streets Stocks came down to a “green, white checkered” finish between Danny Hill, Gary Sheffield, Mathew Grissom and Randy Tyler. The #17 machine of Hill hung on for the win and the 2008 Street Stock Points Championship, barely edging out the #07 machine of Donnie Reed. #12 Gary Sheffield crossed the stripe in 2nd, Thomas Pratt 3rd, Pat Dent 4th and Steve O’Lone 5th.
