The first race of the night at Charlotte County Motorsports Park, was the Road Warriors that was a make-up race from last week, the 97 of Chris Scott lead the first ten laps while Gary McFall in the 38 and Chris Onken were right behind him. McFall took over the lead with Onken coming right behind him as they battle for the lead until the 61 of Chris Onken broke with two laps to go, McFall won the feature with Chris Scott second and Terry Price third. The second feature of the night for Road Warriors saw some of the same action but a different outcome as the 38 of McFall was in the lead for the first twenty laps with Chris Onken, who had four features to get his car running to make the race, battled him for the lead which he got on lap twenty one and with three laps to go several cars were battling coming out of four and the 38 of McFall had a flat tire and had to take it to the pits with Chris Onken winning the 7 of Blaine Baer second and Chris Scott third.
Fab 4 put on an exciting race with some new faces making it into the top three finish, the 55 car driven by Josh Flesher got his first win and new driver to the class Neil Hampton came in second and Danielle Amelotte gracefully came in third. This was Danielle’s second race in the Fab 4 who made an impression as she was racing Jason Perkins so hard to keep that third spot she slapped the front stretch wall coming out of four to beat him to the line and that she did. Fastrucks ran twenty five laps with Stephen Nasse out of Pinellas park winning Ross Chastain was second and young Thomas Warnick was third. Pro 4 saw the 1 car of Cory Scott lead every lap with Logan Leonard coming in second and Derrick Horton still came in third after he had to pit for a flat tire, David Amelotte was trying to run down Scott till he ran out of gas on lap 21 forgetting to refuel after wife’s Danielle third place finish in the Fab’s.
Sportsman saw some new cars join the 50 lap feature so they were able to line up on the front and sign autographs before they started there 50 lap featured event. The 79 car of Steve Gainey got his third win in a row as he knows you have to take the lead early to have a chance to be the one to cross the line first. Fourteen cars started with nine cars finishing and again Gainey lapped five of them. The 25 of L.J. Grimm brought out the only caution on lap 44 and was one of the few still on the lead lap gave the fans a scare as he came to a stop along the front wall then caught on fire sending black smoke through the stands, but he was able to get out quickly and was allright. The 01 of Travis Roland was trying his best to get to Gainey as with an almost caution free race was hard to do and had to settle for second with Ron Heard taking the third spot off of Aaron Williamson on the last lap.
And then the Florida Suncoast Outlaw Street Stock got to greet the fans and sign autographs before there 50 laps race who saw the 09 of Donnie Ollie Jr. win for the second time in a row . The 29 of Bobby Mobley lead the first nine laps till he blew up and the 09 took over the lead and never looked back. David Davis driving the 6X came in second with the 71 of Darrin Ellis third and Shane Leonard Fourth. James Wright was the winner of the Thunder Trucks with Randy Kile second and Chris Scott driving the 24 truck came in third.
Next week the Super Late Models return and then the race that everyone is waiting for BATTLE ON THE BLACK TOP Aug 16 when the United Dirt Late Models come to asphalt
