Bronson Motor Speedway certainly fans got their money's worth Saturday night.
South Carolina driver Jimmy Lang won the opening race for the ASA Late Model Series in a Southern Division 100 green flag lap race.
The race really heated up in the last 20 laps and the last few laps fans saw the lead change several times and concluded in a wild last 5 laps, where 4 or 5 drivers at a shot to win.
Lang also set fast time, but a six car inversion put young Blake Lehr, a Florida racer now living in North Carolina, on the pole. Lehr did a masterful job of holding off hard charges by several drivers for over 70 laps.
Though there were 15 cautions there was several long green flag runs. Bronson Motor Speedway lived up to its reputation as "the bullring".
The drivers all agreed it is nearly impossible to pass without contact. Though the racing was hard as it gets, the drivers kept their cool and put on a whale of a show for the fans.
