PUNTA GORDA, FLA. (OCT. 13) - Lakelands Steve Dorer sped to the front early and never let up on the gas, breezing to victory lane in the 100-lap Super Late Model feature Saturday night at Charlotte County Motorsports Park.
Dorer collected $3,000 for his work behind the wheel of the No. 10 car.
Dorer passed the 81 of Art Cross on a restart and led rest of the way. Sean Lemaster, who recorded fast time in qualifying, gave a spirited chase but had to settle for second. Perry Lovelady drove a determined race and finished third.
The Florida TQ Midgets visited the Punta Gorda 3/8-mile paved oval with a thrilling 25-lap feature.

Ernie Teed of Sarasota clinched the 2007 points title with the victory. Teed made the pass for the lead on lap 9. It looked like it would be easy street for the 9 car. However, he was involved in a wreck on a restart on lap 21. The 68 of Brandon Cagle got into Teeds 9 in turn one. Cagles car flipped on its roll bar.
Cagle was OK but done for the night. Teed had to start from the back. On the last lap, he passed Duffy for the lead. Senior racer Jack Duffy spun out on the final turn, allowing Mike Elder to take second and Fred Stutz to finish third.
In the Fastkids 25-lapper, Ross Chastain stayed on top of the points chase by taking the checkered flag. His closest combatant Seth Greco blew his transmission and finished back in sixth place, losing precious points. Tyler Laing finished second and T.J. Dukes was third.
In the Fastrucks 35-lapper, Brent Hubbard banged his way to the front in the 64 truck. Billy VanDevender was second in the 84 truck. Graham McCorvey was third.
Ted Gise continued his dominance in Dwarf Cars, winning his 10th straight raced in the 1 car. Jeff Ripley took second and Max Howe was third.
Road Warriors featured an exciting duel between Dan Beboit and Anne Marie Ricardi, who raced side-by-side for most of the 25 laps. Benoit hung on, while Ricardi was a tight second. Donnie Castillo was happy to finish third. Ricky Shelnut sputtered.
In Thunder Trucks, Longhorn Randy Kile kept his 21 truck ahead of Mike Bialeckis 8 truck. Tom Pryor was third.
