Greg "The Jet" Leonard rockets to his first USA Sprints Victory

Greg "The Jet" Leonard was the class of the field Saturday night as he "rocketed" his way around the fast 3/8 mile Punta Gorda oval "Dirt Track" style with a blazing trail of smoke flying from his right rear tire. The fans were in awe as they watched a dirt track master behind the wheel of the potent Clyde Poole Special.
The Jet as they call him was really burning up the pavement as he kept the pedal to the metal lap after lap.In fact the # 85's right rear tire was shredded so badly "its a wonder how he even finished the race let alone Win as he did" commented 2nd place finisher Dennis "D-Man" Misuraca.
The action was hot and heavy from the onset as the USA Sprints battled back and forth most of the race with no cautions thrown.Misuraca # 3d was very fast and fought hard with Adema # 67 and Brian Gringas #4g in hot pursuit.Adema made an awesome move in traffic to get the 4g of Gringass on lap 6. Just behind that trio was Sport Allen #88 Shaw who was subbing for Taylor Andrews in his first start of 2007 and RC Roper in the Maxim V8 Sprinter. Both these veterans battled handing problems most of the night as did Roper's teammate Mike Tharp in the J1 Victory is Jesus Gambler.
Mike "Hollywood" Schroeder # 6 had a wing come lose in hotlaps but was able to make repairs to mount a nice run which was his best effort to date for the long time dirt veteran.
Geoff Styner and Motor builder Bob Styner had some motor woes and were not able to make the show.
The team has high hopes for the next race which by the way will be at Aurburnale Speedway Saturday night May 5th.
We thank Lauren Adema, Chip Stick and Karen Stick for all your hard work....We couldn't do it without you. Special thanks go out to the crew of the CCMP Track for an outstanding job once again.
