Perry Brown has to love Citrus County Speedway making it his second win at the 3/8ths mile this season. It wasnt an easy win, moving from his 5th starting spot and chasing early leader Dwayne Dempsey for more than half of the 50 lap shootout over a 23 car field. When he did make the pass on Dempsey he was hounded on a bumper to bumper chase to the checkers by 11th starter Wayne Jefferson who had to settle for second. Dempsey held out for third followed by Mike Hinegardner who looked like he lost an engine during time trials after running third fast time on his only lap. Andrew Alderman finished fifth over 14th starter Robbie Cooper, Lee Collins, Floral City Rookie David Davis, fast qualifier Chris Escott and John Godwin to round out the top ten.
Escott took home the Jimmy Cope Racecars & Engines $100 fast qualifier bonus turning the 3/8th mile at 14.240 seconds. Wayne Jefferson won the Gulfcoast Modified Series $50 Hard Charger Award. After the checkers flew Ron Campbell hit the turn one wall hard, flipping his car but was uninjured when he finally made his way out of his race car.
After time trials the fans got a surprise when the first race on the schedule was a 17 car Figure 8, 20 lap feature. Darryl Hage set the pace from the get go and held out for his third win of the season in a real match race with brother Robbie Hage who had to settle for second. Joey Catterelli worked his way from 13th to finish third in a wild race that saw a lot of close calls in the intersection, but fortunately no major accidents. Zach Perry and Curtis Youmans locked in the balance of the top five spots. Most of the Figure 8ers loaded up right after the race and headed out for Bronson Motor Speedway to race in their Saturday night special.
Nineteen Limited Sportsman saw Dusty Bremer take off and set the pace for the first half of the race before Edward Allen got a break and dove under him to take the lead and his second win of the season. Dusty held out for second holding off 7th starter A.J. Isbister when the checkers flew. Rusty Bremer crossed the line in fourth but was D.Q.d after hitting a car under caution earlier. Tom Posavec inherited fourth over Craig Robinson to round out the top five. Heat wins went to Dusty Bremer and Maloy Kelly.
Johnny Siner wasted no time launching off the outside pole to set the pace for a flag to flag Mini Stock win. Clint Foley moved from his sixth starting spot to put the pressure on Siner but couldnt pull off the pass. Last weeks winner Johnathon Camp came from the back end of the field to win out in real battle for third over George Neumann. Mike Lawhorn locked in a fifth place finish over the 12 car field. Rookie Mark Powers took his first heat win of the season while Clint Foley logged his 9th heat win.

Twenty Hobby Stocks took the green flag and Curtis Flanagan worked his way from 18th to the front with 5 laps left to the checkered flag. His win wasnt verified until after midnight after a tear down of his motor found him legal. Tim Quick worked his way from 16th to second followed 20th starter Jason Murphree after his win 2 weeks ago. Early leader Frank Stromquist looked like he was on his way to his first win of the season until his racer backed up on him and had to settle for fourth over 15th starter John Makula. Heat winners were Sonny VanOchten, Josh Teague and Curtis Flanagan.
A post race inspection took the apparent Thunder Stock feature win away from Carmine Castoria who led the 20 lap main from flag to flag. When all was said and done the ladies benefited with Kristine Henick taking her first win of the season followed by another lady hot shoe Megan Spicer. Mike Dubbs moved from 9th to finish third in the wild race to the flag. Tim Wilson launched his racer from the 19th starting spot to pick up a strong 4th place finish over Victor Shahid who was in a borrowed ride and moved from his 13th starting spot to claim 5th. Heat winners were Kristine Henick and Steve Stinedurf.
Next Saturday night the Late Models go at it in twin, back to back, 50 lap features for $1,800 to win in each race for points. The PBG Legends go into a 35 lap Fall Shootout for Semi-Pro, Pro and Masters divisions. Limited Sportsmen, Mini Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Thunder Stocks and 4 Cylinder Bombers will also run with only three weeks left in the points season. It will also be an early Trick or Treat night prior to the races with the drivers on the speedway. Children in costume will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. On October 28th Citrus County Speedway will have the FALL FIASCO featuring an Enduro 150 for $5,000 to win, plus a DEMO Derby, 50 Lap Figure 8 race, School Bus Figure 8s and a Boat Trailer Race.
