IT'S TIME TO RACE!!

April 18, 2005 FSCR Winged Sprints Fly Around Bronson By Bronson Media Beautiful weather greeted the race fans as the awesome power of the TBARA Winged Sprint Cars invaded the ASA Sanctioned Bronson Motor Speedway last Saturday Night for a great race program! Those wild & crazy Figure 8’s will highlight this Saturday Nights program, so race fans make you plans to be there! Three heat races for the TBARA Winged Sprint Cars started off the night and set up the feature race for the Sprints, some under the 11 second mark. 17 sprint cars started the 30 lap feature and there was wild racing all around the speedway for the entire race. When it all shook out the 29 car of Gary Gimmler just squeaked out the win over the 0 car of Dude Teate and the 68 car of David Slawiak would come home third. The Hungry Howie’s Sportsman would take to the track next and friends Roger Damron and Robbie Cooper started together on the front row. It lead to some great side by side racing for several laps although Damron would slip up one time allowing Robbie Cooper to take the Bronson Lube entry pass and go on to win the 25 lap feature, followed by Damron’s Refrigeration entry and James Stalnaker taking third. The always exciting Pure Stock Division didn’t disappoint the fans as AJ Northrup and Bobby Johnson put on a heck of a show, with Northrup getting the win, followed by Johnson with Tommy Conquest coming through the field to finish third. The Thunder Car feature was another wild and fun race for the fans as they tend to touch every once in a while! Randy O’Neal would pilot his machine to the win followed closely by Michael Holbrook and Ken Sheffield coming home third. The final race would put 7 cars in our Strictly Stock Harvey Wallbanger division, an inexpensive starter division that allows the race fans to get in the show. After some wild banging and crashing, the 07 machine of Dale Sanders would bring home the win, with Aaron Welter second and Don Welter, both of the Welter Racing Stables, bringing home third. Those Wild & Crazy Figure 8’s will be back at Bronson this Saturday Night as well as the Modifieds, Hungry Howie’s Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunder Cars and Harvey Wallbangers!
