HIALEAH, Fla. - Gary Padula and Joe Winchell each garnered a victory in the twin 50 lap limited late model features Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.
Padula led wire to wire in the opener for his first score in the sixth and final round of the MK Mechanical 6 Pack series at the track. Charlie Coyle claimed runner-up money over Danny Maddox, Winchell and Gary McGoron. In the nightcap, Winchell came from the tail of the dozen car field three times to grab the lead from Steve Weaver, Jr on lap 48 and gain the victory and the point title the series. Weaver, Maddox, Kendrick Gomez and McGoron rounded out the top five runners.
The companion 25 lap MK pro truck headliner went to Mike Famiglietti in a wire to wire fashion. Tony Barreca held off Heather Lunsford for third money ahaed of Jake Reedy and Tom North. Reedy edged Lunsford by a mere five points for the overall title.
Travis McCoy hustled to a comfortable win in the make up 25 lap street stock headliner over Sean Bulaskas, Scott Crisafulli, T.C. McElyea and Corey Crisafulli. In the regular 25 lapper it was Scott Crisafulli first to the stripe ahead of McCoy, McElyea, Gary Bisaillon and Bulaskas.
Mini stock point leader S.C. Klinger outran arch-rival David Russell to notch his 16th victory of the season in his potent Toyota. Russell was second in front of BMW mounted Greg Millard, Harold Cross and Tommy Styer.
The make-up cyclone 25 lap run fell to Ken Housh for his first ever victory. Ron Regula was second over brother Bob Regula, John Pettit and Zane Reid. In the night's regular 25 lapper Steve Dielmann paced the 37 car field to the checkers over Roger Pfau, point leader Mike Powers, Mike Blinco and Ron Regula.
Weekly action continues weekly through December 13th at the historic Miami area oval.
