Clint Foley wins FMSC Race at Columbia
by Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - It was dirt late models on pavement Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports Park with Johnny Collins leading all 50 laps for the exciting victory in the visiting National Late Model Series.
By virtue of his win in the first heat race, Collins began the half-century run from the pole on the banked half-mile oval and paced every circuit enroute to the checkers. Stacy Roberts, winner of the second heat claimed runner-up money, two car lengths back with Patrick Sheltra, Richard Ferry and Charles Sealy completing the top five runners in the 21 car field. Bob McQuaig was sixth in the final rundown followed by veteran Cecil Eunice, Eddie Gainey, Aaron McQuaig and Mitchell Durden.

The Florida Mini Stock Challenge tour made its first ever stop here and it was Clint Foley who claimed top money in the 50 lap event for the four cylinder cars. David Moskwa was second over Robbie Yoakam, Robbie Storer and Kevin Macey.

It was a huge night for track regular Jason Garver as he hit a rare double win. In the 20 lap Florida Modified headliner Garver reached the checkers ahead of Greg Nordstrom, Charles Seroki, Dale Mosley and Josh Byrd. A few minutes later, behind the wheel of his street stock, Garver did it again, copping that division's 25 lap headliner by a few feet ahead of Ray Wheeler. Seroki claimed third money over Brad Fiene and Jeff Prescott.

Marty Wood bounced back from mechanical problems the previous week to top the 20 lap Pure Stock main event. Wesley Keller was second to the line over early leader Josh Bedenbaugh, Ronnie Cook and Trisha Taylor.
The entry level Hornet feature fell to Buck Headman in front of Scott Dobek and Caleb Mahler.
