Durden Takes Modified Win at Columbia
by Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - Kevin Durden was the "driver of the week" in the No. 11 Florida modified at Columbia Motorsports Park and he made the most of the one-time drive in taking the feature victory.

Greg Nordstrom set the pace around the half-mile oval for the first lap but Durden, doing double duty this night, would have none of it and powered to the front and eventual score in the 20 lap run. Nordstrom claimed runner-up money ahead of Larry Martin, Jeff Prescott and Jason Garver.

Street Stock action saw Will Jerkins take advantage of a flat tire on Prescott's mount on lap 21 and race to a nice victory in the 25 lap event. Johnny Mitchell was second ahead of Ronnie Crawford, Prescott and Dave Barber who lost an engine at the checkered flag.

Wesley Keller was the main man in the 20 lap Pure Stock run as he got around Trish Taylor on lap three and got to the checkers ahead of John Roling, Russell Patterson, Taylor and Kent Lovett.
