Al Beckeiheimer Wins Late Model Feature at Columbia Motorsports Park
by Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - Al Beckelheimer got out front on the second lap and drove away from his challengers to easily win the 25 lap Late Model feature Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports Park.

Ray Wheeler started from the pole but was no match for Beckelheimer who then outran the new car of Chuck Hiers for the victory. Donnie Oden claimed third money over Wheeler and rookie Aaron Dreher.

The dozen lap Floarida Modified dash for cash saw Charlie Seroki the top man over Terry Wright and Darryl Padgett.

Jeff Prescott appeared headed to the victory in the 15 lap Street Stock main only to tangle with Jason Garver on lap 14 as both spun. An alert Brad Fiene avoided problems and was first to the stripe over Wil Jerkins, Prescott, Ronnie Crawford and Garver.

Russell Patterson was the best of the Pure Stock set as he ran to a wire to wire caution-free victory. John Roling, Ronnie Cook, Trish Taylor and John May chased Patterson's No. 67 to the line.

The entry level Hornet division is begining to gain momentum and for the second week it was Caleb Mahler taking the honors over Scott Dobeck and Shawn Burns in the 15 lap event.
