New Smyrna Speedway Rained Out August 9, School Bus Race Rescheduled

Samsula, Fla (August 9, 2003) Steady rain and flooded pits stopped racing action for New Smyrna Speedway August 9th. The rain just would not stop and New Smyrna called tonight's program at 3:30 p.m.

The Volusia County Sheriff's School Bus race has been rescheduled for September 13. Charlie Crist, the Attorney General for the state of Florida, will be Grand Marshall for the annual event. The event helps the Florida Youth Ranches that are supported by the Volusia County Sheriff's Department.

Racing action hopefully will continue next weekend when the FASCAR Goodyear Challenge Late Models go for 100 laps plus all FASCAR divisions except Super Late Models. Grandstands will open at 6 p.m. with qualifying for the Goodyear Late Models at 6:30 p.m.
