Todd Cooper takes Street Stocks at Hialeah
by Marty Little

HIALEAH, Fla. - Second generation driver Todd Cooper took advantage of a front row starting spot and paced all 25 laps to notch the Street Stock feature event Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.
Wheeling the Rosbury Chevy, Cooper had a mirror full of points leader Sean Bulaskas the entire distance but registered his first score of the season. Travis McCoy claimed third money ahead of Tony Barreca and T.C. McElyea.

The 10th running of the Roy Hartley Memorial for the Cyclone division saw veteran Bob Regula pace the 38 car starting field every lap for his second victory of the season. Lapped traffic nearly cost Regula the score following a spin when a lapped car broke a radiator hose, but he was able to recover and speed to the checkers ahead of Mark Cornett, fastest qualifier Mike Powers, Tony Crowder and Al Grimm.
S.C. Klinger ran to his ninth Mini Stock score of the year as he pushed his Toyota to the lead on lap two and out distanced Eli Pollard, Bill Calder and Dave Shull in the 10 lap run.

The special 15 lap "road race" for the Cyclones, using most of the oval and a bit of the figure 8 track, saw Phil Peterson gain the victory.

Linda Schmal edged teammate Victor Leo for runner-up honors with Juan Valdez fourth and newcomer Hansell Rojas rounding out the top five.
Round three of the MK Mechanical 6 Pack series for Limited Late Models and Pro Trucks will highlight the card for August 2.
