Sean Taylor Takes Modified Feature at Columbia Motorsports Park
by Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - Despite rain all around Columbia Motorsports Park it was racing as usual Saturday night with Sean Taylor coming from the tail of the Florida Modified feature to capture the victory.

Jason Garver set the early pace until he spun passing a lapped car and Taylor took the point. Two laps later Taylor and Garver bumped and spun but Taylor was able to recover and drive back to the front and gain the score. Terry Wright copped second spot in the 15 lap run over Pat Jett, Garver and Charles Seroki.

Former Street Stock track champion Jeff Prescott paced the 25 lap Street Stock headliner in wire to wire fashion with Garver in his shadow for much of the event for runner-up honors. Tim Conrad, Shane Taylor and Ronnie Crawford completed the top five finishers.

Trish Taylor took advantage of a tangle between Ronnie Cook and John Roling to claim her first career Pure Stock win. Sammy Hatcher was the best of the rest in second over Cook, Russel Patterson and Roling in the 20 lap event.

The visiting TQ Late Model feature fell to Derik Suits over Mike Carrigg and David Rader.
