Dempsey Dominates Blue-Gray 100
By Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - It was Dwayne Dempsey night at Columbia Motorsports Park on Saturday as he lead every lap to win the Blue-Gray 100 for Florida modifieds.

Starting from the pole by virtue of a heat race win, Dempsey navigated the half-mile oval as if on a string and was never seriously challenged.

The balance of the 24 car field battled furiously and when the checkers flew it was Larry Martin in the runner-up slot over Brian Campbell, Indiana invader Todd Gearhart and Jeremy Gerstner.

The second five consisted of Jamie Burrows, Harold Scott, Mike Hasty, J.F. McClellan and Mike Johnson.

Michael Faulk was the best of the late models as he topped the Ford of Donnie Oden, Georgia's Walter Reardon, Jody Turner and Josh Byrd in the 25 lap main.

The 20 lap street stock headliner saw Kelly Barber score the win ahead of his brother Dave with Eddie Herndon, Will Jerkins and Roy Crain following to the stripe.

John Roling outran Russell Patterson and Marty Wood to claim the pure stock honors.
