MOTHER NATURE WINS ANOTHER AT EAST BAY | by Ken Sands
Mother Nature won for the third time in the last 4 weeks at East Bay Raceway. With rain falling all night long Friday, even the bright Saturday sunshine was not enough for the track prep crew to get the racing surface into any kind of shape. With the pits and infield flooded and absolutely no where to pump the water to, the plug was pulled early in the day.
Racing will resume next weekend with a double header. Friday July 20 will be the Sprint Hot Shoe, Street Stock Double Trouble and the first Pure Stock race of the year paying $1000 to win.
Saturday July 21 will be a feature only format for all 5 regular classes ( Sprints, Late Model, Limited Late Model, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks ). There will also be a Giant Demo Derby paying $1000 to win along with a Fantastic $10,000 FIREWORKS Display.
The Mini Stocks will also have the Jasen Buzbee Memorial Dash for Cash and the final C T Earle Fastest Man on Foot Race will take place, paying $500 to the winner. Those eligible are Greg Leonard, Phillip Cobb, Steve Johnson, Ryan Mitchell and Jerry Rogers.
Don't miss out on all the action at East Bay Raceway. The Action Track of the South. www.eastbayraceway.com Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! or send a letter to the editor!
