| BRIAN MADDOX ENDS DROUGHT IN EAST BAY SPRINTS | by Ken Sands
Bob Auld led the field of 18 Sprints to Tommy Browders green flag in the Budweiser Sprint Car Main, but as lap one was scored it was Gibsonton's Joe Melnick in the Gene Matz #8 out front. Melnick led laps 1-7 when a high flying Brian Maddox passed Melnick on lap 8. Maddox led until lap 18 when Melnick got back around Maddox in lapped traffic, but 2 laps later it was Melnick getting caught in lapped traffic and Maddox was right there to resume the lead. Maddox then held on the final four laps to claim his first win since 1997, putting an end to his winless drought. Sport Allen took second over Greg Leonard, Johnny Gilbertson and Brandon Dover. Heats went to Bob Auld and Brian Maddox.
The Budweiser Late Model Main went to Bobby Alexander Jr. in a hard fought battle over Phillip Cobb, David Schmauss, Jack Nosbisch Jr., and Ken Nosbisch Heats went to Schmauss and Mark Haase.
The Budweiser Limited Late Model Main went to Jeff Mathews over Forrest Gough, Tom Schnader, John Norris and Tom Zalys. Heats went to Mathews, Gough and Dale Pope.
The Budweiser Mini Stock Main went to Scott Howard over Scotty Williams, Chris Livernois, Chad Rose and Ryan Mitchell. Heats went to Howard, Devin Dixon and Rusty Dixon.
The Budweiser Street Stock A Main fell to Terry Bronson over Timmy Bronson, Steve Johnson, Bryson Ryker and Rob Hall. Heats went to Terry Bronson, Rob Hall and Gene Ford.
The Budweriser Street Stock B Main wnet to Danny Paris over Jeff Stewart, Hollie Smith, Wayne Hays and Rusty Timmons
