Bubba the Love Sponge Returns to Dirt Racing At Hendry County Motorsports Park | HCMP Media
Bubba the Love Sponge returns to dirt short track racing this weekend, driving the 102.5 late model in the Messier Land Development Late Model division at Hendry County Motorsports Park.
Joining Bubba in the late models will be Wayne Reutimann Jr., who like Bubba the Love Sponge, is well known around Florida for his sprint car racing career. Bubba has been involved in dirt late models for the last several years.
Also on hand will be the living legend Buzzie Reutimann and brother Wayne Reutimann Sr, who also happens to the be related to a pretty popular NASCAR race car driver by the name of David.
Bubba the Love Sponge, Buzzie and Wayne Reutimann will be available along with the rest of the drivers from the Messier Land Developing Late Models for autographs during an on track autograph session. The last on track autograph session had to be scrubbed due to rain. This time owner Ken Kinney, Jr, said "If we have to be here til 2 in the morning we are going to have on track autographs for the kids."
The last late model race at Hendry County Motorsports Park was won by Keith Nosbisch, sponsored by who else?

Mini Stock Division Update: An earlier decision to bring all the mini stocks out to race this weekend has been canceled. Too many drivers had already made other plans, forcing the scheduled meeting to be put off until a future date. That date will not be too far off in the future as Kinney has made it very clear that the track will move in the direction of less classes of cars, with more cars in each class.
Moving in this direction will be good for the fans, who after all are the only reason the track can provide a place for racers to enjoy the sport and competition. And it will be good for the drivers, who will benefit with more stable race programs and eventually less costly racing programs.
Video Available: Race videos are available at the main grandstand concession stand every Saturday night.
