| 43rd Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Right Around the Corner | FASCAR MEDIA
Samsula, Fla. (January 28, 2009) In just a few days at New Smyrna Speedway, the asphalt will heat up for the 43rd running of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. For nine (yes 9) straight nights, the BEST OF THE BEST Super Late Models, Late Models, ASA Crate Late Models, NASCAR Tour Type Modifieds, SK Modifieds, FL/IMCA Modifieds, Sprint Cars, and Pro Trucks will entertain fans with the best short track racing on asphalt in the state.
"Entries have been pouring in," said Operations Manager Kim Brown. "This looks to be one of the best years ever for the World Series and we are very excited about the nine nights. We have twenty two Super Lates already pre-entered and more coming in. They are coming from Florida, Ohio, California, Ontario, New York, and North Carolina. What a great field fans will see."
"We have had a large response from the ASA Crate Type Late Models with 31 already pre-entered. For that field, they are coming from all over the country it seems. Drivers are coming from states that we have not normally had for the World Series like Vermont, Kentucky, Iowa and Idaho. This truly is going to be great."
The 43rd Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing will begin on Friday, February 6th and continue until Saturday, February 14th. Racing will begin each night at 7:30 pm. Grandstands are $25.00 and $30.00 for reserved seating. Children 11 and under are free. To get reserve seating, call 386-427-4127. Pit gate is $30.00 per person.
On Friday, February 13th, the annual Richie Evans Memorial will run showcasing the NASCAR Tour Type Modifieds for 100 laps of modified action. On Saturday, for the Super Late Model fans, the Pete Orr Memorial 100 will run showcasing some of the BEST Super Late Model drivers in the country. Plus during the week, there will be various 50 lap races for other divisions and Winged Sprints on Sunday, February 8th and Monday, February 9th.
The FL/IMCA Modified will run thru Wednesday, February 11th and will be replaced on Thursday, February 12th with the FASCAR Pro Trucks. The FL/IMCA Modifieds will run a 50 lap race on Wednesday as their final race of the World Series.
On Thursday, February 12th, fans will see two 50 lap races with the Super Late Models and Late Models. On Friday, February 13th, along with the Richie Evans Memorial, the ASA Crate Late Models will also run for 50 laps.
Then on Saturday, February 14 and the final night, it is the Pete Orr Memorial 100 plus the SK Modified 50 lapper and the FASCAR Pro Truck 50 lapper. A great way to end nine nights of racing action.
