FASCAR Pro Trucks, Southern Sportsman and Florida Mini Stock Challenge head to USA International for Forester's Race for the Kids October 21 | by Jane Smith Lakeland, Fla. (October 17, 2006) USA International will host the 2006 Forester's Race for the Kids this weekend, October 21. Fans will see 50 laps of FASCAR Pro Trucks action along with a 35 lap Southern Sportsman race and a 35 lap Florida Mini Stock Challenge race. Also on the program will be a Shriner Show and Dangerour Moments Stunt Show featuring Mark Hager.
Last year it was Jamie Skinner of Port Orange who topped the field in the FASCAR Pro Truck race followed by Jimmy Gill, Danny Foster,. Dalton Zehr, and J. R. Garica III. Skinner, who has turned the wheel of his No. 5s truck over to younger brother Dustin, has taken on a new challenge in 2006. Skinner is the Crew Chief for the No. 60 truck of Chad Akins. Jamie Skinner knows USA well winning the last Pro Truck race this year at Lakeland but who will take his place on October 21?? With only one race after Saturday night left in the Pro Truck Series, a good finish is a "must" for the top two drivers in points. George Morales leads the Pro Truck points but young Scott Bishop of South Carolina is right on his tail and not giving him much room for mistakes. Either one can win the 2006 Championship with only 54 points separating the first and second place. Third and fourth place drivers Caesar Bacarella and Kyle Eastham are in the same boat as Morales and Bishop. With only 47 points separating them it will be a challenge. Bacarella is 264 points behind Bishop which means he will definitely end the year in third or fourth place. Rounding out the top ten in points are Chad Akins, George Gorham Jr., T.J. Chambers, Scott Reeves, Ricky Moxley, and Jarred Cawley. "Lakeland is definitely a challenge and you better have a good handling truck for sure," said previous winner Jamie Skinner. "I love to run Lakeland and I have always done well there but if you make a mistake, it is going to hurt." Leading the points for the Southern Sportsman series is Steve Gainey followed by Aaron Williamson, Derrik Heath, Craig Cuzzone, Rikk McMehan, Michael Soukup, Tommy Conquest, Ron Heard Jr., Richard Elkins, Jr., and T.C. McElyea. These guys race hard and with their points close also, every lap counts. Chris Thornton leads the Florida Mini Stock Challenge Series going into USA followed by Robbie Storer, Rich Sirmans, Raymond Folwell, Chuck Frazier, Marty Neikens, Robbie Yoakam, Cody Blair, Mary Green, and Maqrk Moniz.
