Florida Mini Stock Challenge set to Tackle New Smyrna Speedways’ High Banks.
By Rick Warren
This Saturday night, March 25, the American Building Materials/Florida Mini Stock Challenge Series will hit the fast ½ mile New Smyrna Speedway for 50 fast and furious laps of racing action.
The Mini Stock Challenge always brings a good field of race cars, and great drivers. With last years Champion, Dustin Deschamps moving on to the Goodyear Challenge Late Model Series, the race for the FMSC Crown is wide open.
After winning the season opener at Citrus County Speedway, Robbie Yoakam has a scant 9 point lead over Jim Smith. This early in the season, positions in the point battle will certainly change many times, and the level of competition will keep the pressure on everyone.
The racers of the Mini Stock Challenge always look forward to racing at New Smyrna Speedway, and you can be sure that all of them will bring their best effort to the track. Yoakam, as winner of the last event, will start no better than 11th position, as mandated by series rules. There will be a lot of fast racecars between Yoakams’ #8 racer and a 2 race win streak. Racers such as Chris Thornton, Robbie Storer, Rick Sirmans, Raymond Folwell, Chuck Frazier, and Dennis Valdez, just to name a few.
The Florida Mini Stock Challenge Series, pound for pound, and dollar for dollar, always provide great racing action for the fans. For those fans on the East Coast, who may not have many opportunities to see this great series in action, this Saturday night is your chance.
The Florida Mini Stock Challenge Series Drivers will have an autograph session before the race, so here is your chance to meet these drivers up close and personal. Racing starts at 7:30 P.M., so come early and get a good seat.
