Samsula, Fla. (March 13, 2006) Are you ready?? Are you really ready?? The 2006 Sunbelt Super Late Models will open their 2006 season this Saturday night at New Smyrna Speedway and what a night it will be.
Returning to defend his 2005 Championship will be Jason Boyd. Boyd will wheel his own number 15 Super Late against the "best of the best" Super Late Model drivers in the state.
Returning to the Sunbelt Series are Rich Pratt, Mac Johnson, Brian Finney, B.J. McLeod, Dalton Zehr, Mike Bresnahan, Dick Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Jimmy Cope and a number of the best in the state.
"We are very excited about the 2006 season and by the number of calls we have had from Super Late Model drivers, it is going to be a great year," said General Manager of FASCAR Don Nerone. "Just having Dick Anderson back behind the wheel of a car, that is a good reason to come and see a Sunbelt Super Late Model race. Dickie is hard to beat and puts on a great show for the fans."
"This year you will see some new talent and some you are use to seeing but all in all, it is going to be great. Even Travis Kittleson, the 2006 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Champion plans to join the Sunbelt Series from time to time and Travis always makes the show interesting along with Mike Fritts who has won just about everything from the Governor's Cup to Speedfest in 2005 and 2006."
Said Kittleson from his cell phone, "I love running the Sunbelt Series and I am going to try and make every race I can this year. Running with Justin Drawdy, Jeff Choquette, Jason Boyd and all the drivers has always been alot of fun for me. I really enjoyed Speedfest this year and the World Series and hopefully the year will only get better for our team."
The Sunbelt Series will see action this year at a number of tracks from New Smyrna Speedway, Orlando SpeedWorld, Columbia Motorsports Park, USA International, Desoto Super Speedway, Ocala Speedway, Citrus County Speedway and Bronson Motorsports Park.
