Kim Scheffler Bennett recently visited Race Rock Restaurant in Orlando for a promotional event.
Lakeland, FL (March 6, 2006)- After a two year absence from racing, Kim Scheffler Bennett will once again wheel her famous #10 purple truck at Charlotte County Speedway this Saturday, March 11, in the FASTRUCK series.
"I missed the competition and adrenaline rush that racing gives you," said Scheffler. "I found that just working at the racing school was not enough, that I needed to be behind the wheel again taking a green flag."
Two years ago, Scheffler married Ryan Bennett who helped build her new truck. "I can't thank Ryan enough for all his hard work," said Kim. "I also have to thank my dad (Fred Scheffler) and Uncle Mark for helping prep the truck for painting, which turned out truly awesome."
Stock Car Racing Magazine is covering the building of her truck from the chassis up in about 5 to 7 issues bringing her name back into the racing spotlight. Sleepy Gomez, the Tech Editor for the magazine organized the building of the truck. The first of the five to seven part story is in the April issue on stands now.
Bennett plans to race some FASTRUCK events along with some FASCAR Pro Truck events to show how versatile the trucks are. And from time to time, you may see her wheel a Late Model owned by Gregg Kielma, owner of KGKI Radio. Plus Bennett is a co-host on the Thursday night race report hosted on KGKIRadio.com between 7 and 10 pm
Bennett recently had her new truck at Race Rock in Orlando and plans to take the truck to local schools and charity events as often as she can.
She will be at East Bay tomorrow filming for a show with Woman in Racing Magazine and Channel 10 news (Meredith that does the traffic segment). Kim continues to be still "Racin' for a Dream". Check www.KimScheffler.com often for upcoming events where Kim will be and her racing schedule and results.
