Live Internet Pay Per View Set for 2006 SpeedWorld Winternationals
by Dave Westerman
Post FX Video Productions and Orlando Speedworld have announced that all eight nights of racing during the 2006 Winternationals will be shown live on www.tvshowcaster.com's RaceLine.
All of the live events will be broadcast on a pay per view basis, however the cost will be minimal at just $5.00 per night. "This is something new for racing in this area," says Post FX Director Dean Baker. "Right now everything looks good and we think we can provide a quality webcast at a rate anyone can afford. All we need to do initially is cover the cost of bandwidth and our operating costs and see what kind of response we get," he says.
To view the package, go to www.tvshowcaster.com and click on Channel 3 for RaceLine. Here you can watch pre-recorded shows at no cost (including highlights of the 2005 Winternationals) along with accessing the pay per view section where you can set up an account for viewing the Winternationals as well as other action later in the year. During the Winternationals, each night will be treated as a separate program at $5.00 for each show.
The first live webcast will be this Thursday, February 9th, starting at 7PM and will feature action from classes like Open Wheel Lite, Mod Lite, Pro Challenge, Mini Cup, Formula Indy Cars, Flatheads and the Daytona Antique Racing Association. Action will also begin at 7PM on Friday night, February 10th and at 6PM on Saturday the 11th.
Then, the entire five night INEX/600 Series Winternationals program will be webcast live beginning at 7PM on Tuesday evening, February 14th continuing through Saturday the 18th. Legends Cars, Thunder Roadsters and Bandeleros will be in action along with the FASCAR Super Stock division.
"Not everybody gets to come to Florida for the racing in February," says Speedworld Track Manager Rusty Marcus. "Now race fans from all over the U.S., and the world for that matter, will be able to watch what we're doing here at Speedworld plus it's great for the competitors as their family and friends who can't make it here can watch their driver in action as it happens," he says.
