Pro Mod Doubleheader set for September 5 and September 6 at Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway | by Jane Smith
Samsula, Fla (August 18, 2003) Team FASCAR announced today that the FASCAR Pro Mods will run a doubleheader on September 5 and September 6.
On September 5, the Pro Mods will run 50 laps at what fans affectionly call"the bullring" at Orlando SpeedWorld in Bithlo, Florida. Orlando SpeedWorld is a 3/8 mile oval with 18 degree banking and is what drivers call "a driver's track". The one important thing you need to know at this track is how to drive and you better have a good handling car.
Then on September 6, the Pro Mods will move to New Smyrna Speedway, the l/2 mile 18 degree banked sister track of Orlando SpeedWorld for another 50 laps of non-stop action. This is our fun track and a great place to race.
New for the Pro Mods will be a $500 bonus to the driver with the best average overall from the two nights of racing.
Expect to see Jerry Symons and D.J. Hoelzle who have fought all season long for the points championship. Both these racers have very good cars and D.J. has won almost every pole this year for the Pro Mod Series. Also expect Brad May, Jerry Artuso, Tank Tucker, Rob Underwood just to name a few.
On August 23, the Pro Mods will run for 100 laps at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida for $3,000 to win.
Orlando SpeedWorld is located between SR50 and SR520 in Bithlo, Florida. New Smyrna Speedway is located between SR417 and SR44 between I-4 and I-95 eight miles west of New Smyrna Beach in beautiful Samsula, Florida.
Pit Gates will open at 2 p.m. on both days with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing action starts at 8 p.m. at Orlando SpeedWorld and at 7:30 p.m. at New Smyrna Speedway. Have an opinion on this story? Post a message on our Message Board! <news@karnac.org>or send a letter to the editor!
