Thursday, August 14, 2003 | | Dirt Stock Car World Championship set for October 23-25 | MOORESVILLE, N.C. - DSCWC, Inc. of Mooresville North Carolina announced plans today to stage the Inaugural running of the Dirt Stock Car World Championships on October 23rd, 24th and 25th at the Modoc Speedway in Modoc, South Carolina. The event is designed for Street Stock/Hobby/Super Street type cars with rules designed to allow nearly all track rules to compete.
This will be a 100-lap Championship event paying $10,000 to the winner with a minimum or $500 to make the 26 car field. The 3 day format will feature a check-in and tech day on Thursday the 23rd with controlled hot lap sessions, followed by 2 days of qualifying, heat races, consolation races, A-Mains and the 100 lap main event.
Modoc Speedway is a fast 4/10th mile clay oval located on the SC/GA border near Augusta. The track features a heavy clay surface that is 90ft wide allowing for plenty of racing room.
Early entry for the Dirt Stock Car World Championships is set at $100 until October 1st when entry fees jump to $150. Current plans call to limit entries to the first 150. Complete rules, entry forms and information regarding this event are available at www.dirtstockcarwc.com.
