Of course, some titles were decided, some brought it closer, and some drivers even took points leads back.

Barrett’s Race Cars Hobby Stocks took to the clay in a non-points race for glory and $500. Brett Barrett, sponsor of the series, took the early lead. Scott Haas and Tommy Ausburn made contact and spun on lap 9 bringing out the first yellow of the night. Both continued on. The restart allowed Trevor Gamble to close in and he took his shot on lap 12- it was succesful. On lap 16 a debris caution came out right before Mark Maresca spun. The final 4 were green and this time Gamble kept the win. Bud Chancey drove it to 2nd with Barrett right behind. Joe Boyd and Mark Maresca had season runs with top 5s for both drivers. Devin Walker did a magnificent job to take 6th, Ausburn rebounded for 7th, “Yankee Boy” Sean Babcock kept it clean and 8th, Eric Arminio was 9th, and Don Woosley completed the top 10.

Danny Martin, Jr., the points leader, was out of a ride. Key word: was. Terry Witherspoon received a phone call from Martin and willingly gave up the 43 to Martin so he could take home a title. Kyle Welchance flipped the 47W on lap 3 but he did climb from the car under his own power. On lap 6 Ryan Partin was spun on the frontstretch but Partin controlled the car and kept it on all 4s. The next lap Collin Cabre spun the 12. The final 18 were caution free as Danny Martin, Jr. crossed the line first for the fifth time in a row at Bubba Raceway Park, albeit for a new owner. Robbie Smith was 2nd, Sport Allen a decent 3rd, Brett O’Donnell a respectable 4th, and Kerry Gilbert completed the top 5. AJ Maddox drove to 6th, Jimmy Ballew, Jr. was 7th, Matt Kurtz in 8th, Cabre came back to 9th, and Brandon Grubaugh completed the top 10.

Thirty-Eight. The number the late Scott Thompson drove. The number of laps the Late Models ran. Lap 6 saw Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. overtake Jack Nosbisch for the lead he would never relinquish. Just after the pass the caution came out for debris. Doodle Pipken spun 1 lap later. On lap 14 Kent Corbin slowed, Tim Zackery followed suit, and Chris Fontaine spun to avoid contact. The restart saw JO Nobles, UDLMCS leader Keith Nosbisch, Stanton Mills, Rich Pratt, and Darrell Padgett all involved in a wreck. Pipken spun again on lap 16 ending his night. With 13 to go Keith Nosbisch had a tire go flat and the yellow flew for driver #02. The final restart came after Austin Kirkpatrick hit the tire on lap 35. Lloyd held on to win and has a 70 point lead before the dropped points race. Mark Whitener took 2nd, Jack Nosbisch 3rd, “The Locomotive” Johnny Collins an impressive 4th, and Dillon Wood a fantastic yet disappointing 5th. John Kellum was 6th, Brandon DeWitt 7th, Doug Watson, the hard charger, was 8th, Bo Allen 9th, and Stanton Mills drove back to 10th.

Lap 2 saw Jesse Corbitt spin the 3D entering turn 4. Davey Kinsey overtook Jason Gamble for the lead on lap 4 and held it for as long as he could. On lap 5 and lap 10, DJ Horiski spun the 49 in turn 2. Davey Wolf brought out a caution 1 lap later and Kinsey retired the 58 with a flat tire giving Gamble back the lead. On lap 16 Richard Calmes spun in turn 4. On lap 18 Horiski spun again ending his night. On the restart Mike Chuchian and Jerrid Bennett made contact sending the 5W of Bennett onto the fence but he kept it on all 4. Another lap was run before a caution for Todd Roberts and Brian Shea came out allowing Gamble to take the lead he had lost to Jonathan Appleby. Gamble held on while Aplleby had to settle for 2nd best. Jeff Baer was 3rd, John Thorpe a relieving 4th, and Mike Valdez rounded out the top 5. Joey Durbin, Jason Blackmer, Mike Stalnaker, Vaughn Woodall, and Gordon Cade finished the top 10. With Stalnaker on the lead lap it gave Gamble a $250 bonus from the Stalnaker Bounty.

Jordan McMillan found himself in 1st in just his 3rd ever start and he held on to it for quite some time. On lap 6 AJ Jernigan spun the XXL. McMillan held the lead but on lap 11 Reid Christensen overtook driver #68. Mike Autenreith hit the wall a few seconds after the pass bringing out a caution. McMillan got another shot on lap 13 when Kody Fisher and John Johnson spun around in turn 4. Christensen held the lead and took #6 of 2011. McMillan did a fantastic job to take 2nd, Brandon Haseleu took his new paint to 3rd, Steve Cox salvaged points with 4th, and Steve Johnson completed the top 5. Tommy Ausburn, Jr. was 6th, Stephen Frankland 7th, Kody Fisher 8th, Robert Graham 9th, and John Johnson was 10th.

Next week-end is the final regular night with the UMP Open-Wheel Modifieds headlining the night. Barrett’s Race Cars Hobby Stocks for $500 and Double Points, Mini Stocks, Gladiators, and the Florida Mini Sprints also return.
