By Dave Westerman, Bronson Speedway Media<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nAfter months of preparation Bronson Speedway is ready. Drivers, crews,<\/span><\/span>\r\nfamilies, friends and fans are being welcomed back to a speedway with<\/span><\/span>\r\nquite a history of exciting high bank racing.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nNew owners Chris and Ann Young have a vision for Bronson Speedway that<\/span><\/span>\r\npromises to take you back to grass roots affordable racing.  Every detail<\/span><\/span>\r\nof their plan has taken into consideration fiscal responsibility so that<\/span><\/span>\r\nthe racer, the crew and the fan can enjoy the sport they love, all while<\/span><\/span>\r\nconserving costs.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nDivision rules have been revised to keep costs down, pit admissions and<\/span><\/span>\r\ngrandstand admission prices are reasonable and food prices at the<\/span><\/span>\r\nconcession stand afford families the ability to eat at the track so as not<\/span><\/span>\r\nto miss any of the action.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nA Saturday night schedule format will allow racers to complete their work<\/span><\/span>\r\nweek and then plan on a great evening of racing.  Racing will continue<\/span><\/span>\r\neach Saturday night through the end of October.  In November, Jim McClain<\/span><\/span>\r\nhas already signed on to sponsor the \"TRI-Performance \"Thanksgiving Extra<\/span><\/span>\r\nHelping of Speed Legend Invitational.\"  Legend teams are being invited<\/span><\/span>\r\nfrom across the country.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nThis event will be held annually and promises to generate alot of<\/span><\/span>\r\nexcitement, action and entertainment for the fans of Bronson Speedway.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nOn the schedule each week will be the Open Wheel Modified, Sportsman,<\/span><\/span>\r\nPurestock and INEX Legend Cars.  Specialty and other events will be<\/span><\/span>\r\nadded in the future.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nMike Odwasny, formerly of Mountain Speedway in PA,  is leading the staff<\/span><\/span>\r\nat Bronson Speedway.  Mike comes with a wealth of knowlege as he has been<\/span><\/span>\r\nboth driver and owner, and spent the latter part of his career being<\/span><\/span>\r\ninvolved heavily with tech and race director responsibilities at Mountain<\/span><\/span>\r\nSpeedway.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nJimmy Dunford is the Pit Steward and Jimmy Durden returns to the flag<\/span><\/span>\r\nstand. Chief scorer Kaycie Chambers is also returning to Bronson Speedway<\/span><\/span>\r\nand will have Jessica Markham to assist with timing and scoring.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nCharlotte Dunford is returning as Concessions Director, and man can she<\/span><\/span>\r\ncook!  The fans and drivers won't go hungry at Bronson Speedway!  Mike<\/span><\/span>\r\nSchenk of Mike's Ice is the Event Coordinator and a special thanks goes<\/span><\/span>\r\nout to Mike for all he has done to help bring Bronson Speedway back to<\/span><\/span>\r\nlife.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nAnother thanks must be extended to Roger and Marie Mion who have flown<\/span><\/span>\r\ndown<\/span><\/span> to Bronson Speedway from NY to revise, repair and revamp \r\ncommunications<\/span><\/span> at Bronson Speedway.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nGates open Saturday afternoon a 4:30 p.m., practice begins at 6 and the<\/span><\/span>\r\nfirst feature event begins at 7:30.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nDrifters, the newest addition to Bronson Speedway, will close the show<\/span><\/span>\r\nunder the lights  with tire squeal, smoke and driving skills that are<\/span><\/span>\r\nsure to make this opening day a memorable one.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nInterest among race teams for the season opener has been at a fever<\/span><\/span>\r\npitch with many already registering to race.  One driver looking to<\/span><\/span>\r\nreturn is Gene Owen. Owen has numerous Bronson Speedway championships<\/span><\/span>\r\nto his credit and he is \"in it to win it\" in the Open Wheel Modified<\/span><\/span>\r\nranks as he has attended all three pre-race practices held at the<\/span><\/span>\r\nspeedway.  <\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nRobbie Cooper, one of the standout OWM drivers in the State, calls<\/span><\/span>\r\nBronson home as he cut his teeth racing at Bronson Speedway. Cooper<\/span><\/span>\r\nhas pre-registered for the event along with, Brian Hutcheson, L.J.<\/span><\/span>\r\nGrimm, Steven Hise and Gator Hise just to name a few.  <\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nRick Kase and Fred Tuski will lead the charge in the Sportsman division,<\/span><\/span>\r\nChris Young and Rick Kepley have already entered the INEX Legend Car<\/span><\/span>\r\naction.  Steven Hise, Larry Welter, Jr., Victoria Spearin and David Walls<\/span><\/span>\r\nare set for Pure Stock racing, and, among those ready to buzz into Hornet<\/span><\/span>\r\naction is Mike Copeland.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nBronson Speedway, in an effort to race against hunger, locally is<\/span><\/span>\r\npartnering with<\/span><\/span> www.rockcanroll.com<\/a>, a hunger relief organization that \r\norganizes<\/span><\/span> food drives and then enlists the help of volunteers to deliver the<\/span><\/span>\r\nfood to local pantries.  So, Bronson Speedway is asking anyone<\/span><\/span>\r\nattending the season opener to bring a nutricious non-perishable<\/span><\/span>\r\nfood donation.  These donations will be collected at both the front<\/span><\/span>\r\nand pit gate and then will be delivered to The Childrens Table which<\/span><\/span>\r\n\u00a0is a local food bank feeding local children in need.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nCome on out to be part of history as Bronson Speedway goes green this<\/span><\/span>\r\nSaturday night.<\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
