{"id":6749,"date":"2011-05-29T10:51:54","date_gmt":"2011-05-29T10:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/?p=6749"},"modified":"2011-05-29T10:51:54","modified_gmt":"2011-05-29T10:51:54","slug":"rodgers-rolls-to-fifth-straight-at-east-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/front-page-news\/rodgers-rolls-to-fifth-straight-at-east-bay\/","title":{"rendered":"Rodgers Rolls to Fifth Straight at East Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong>May 28, 2011 \u2013With threatening weather all around, East Bay officials managed to run all but one feature for a complete program.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> As the lightning lit up the night, Jeff Rodgers went wire to wire to pick up his fifth consecutive feature win in the Street Stock racing. <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6750\" href=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/front-page-news\/rodgers-rolls-to-fifth-straight-at-east-bay\/attachment\/rodgers-sat-nite-5-28\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6750\" title=\"Rodgers-Sat-Nite-5-28\" src=\"https:\/\/karnac.com\/flanews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Rodgers-Sat-Nite-5-28-275x183.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>Buck Woodhouse gave Rodgers the best challenge, but had to take second. Jarod Gay and John Clark battled to the end with Gay third and Clark fourth. Curtis Book had a steady fifth. Andy Lee and Rodgers got victory lane photos for the heats.<!--more--><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> Forrest Gough added his second win of the 2011 season in the Q Auto &amp; Injury Attorneys Limited Late Models. Gough was able to grab the lead on the fifth lap from Tim Powers and hold back the rest of the challengers. Powers was able to keep the runner-up spot, ahead of Jason Pope, Hurshell Bonner and Daniel Woody. Bonner and Woody were winners of their heat races.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> Robbie Smith used the track experience he gained last week in the Top Gun race to power to a convincing feature in the East Bay Sprints. Smith beat heat race winner Billy Boyd Jr. to the line. Boyd had his hands full with Johnny Gilbertson in the middle portion of the race and Gilbertson posted third for his second top five. Tim George took fourth while Kerry Gilbert added his first top five of the year. George took the other heat.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> The Florida Old Time Modifieds brought 10 cars with Jamie Frankland topping the heat. Andy Kelly took Tommy Zwally\u2019s ride to the win the feature.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> Brett Phillips made a last lap pass to claim the rain-soaked Dirt Dauber main.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> The motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were unable to run their features due to the rain.  Darrell Taylor, Patrick Fiore and Red Vann won heats.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><strong>ASA sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, June 4, 2011.  The program will include the Late Models, Gagel\u2019s Auto Parts open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers, Dirt Daubers and Fan Participation races.
