David Crews Jr. rallied from an early race penalty to take the Burkins Chevrolet Open Wheel Modified feature. In Late Model Action “Lake City Lightning” Adam Bedenbaugh made it three in a row. Heath Walker stopped Marty Smith’s early season winning in Street Stock competition. Rick Reed returned to victory lane in Pure Stock and Kevin Underwood reclaimed the honors for Box Stock.

Street Stocks would get the feature race action underway and Heath Walker wasted no time moving to the lead from outside row one. Even though attrition shortened the feature race field Walker had to fend off some pretty stiff competition. Ray Wheeler and Ray Durrence Jr. applied the early pressure but spins by both drivers ended their bids for the checkered flag. Meanwhile Marty Smith patiently worked his way to second. As the white flag waved Smith closed the gap and pulled up to Walker’s bumper for a last lap challenge. Smith looked for room on the low side coming off turn four but Walker protected the bottom enough to take his first win in 2011.

The Pure Stocks were next on the card with William Martin and Jerry Fortner bringing the field to green. Fortner powered to the lead and set his sights on win number two in 2011. Behind Fortner Rick Reed moved into position to challenge and that was what he did a short time later. After taking control of the lead Reed would not relinquish it. Early season point leaders Fortner and Andy Olson would take down second and third respectively. William Martin and Shane Taylor would round out the top five.

Eighteen Late Models would line up for feature event action. Adam Bedenbaugh and Brandon Cameron would be in charge of bringing the field to green. Cameron would serve notice that he was ready to put an end to Bedenbaugh’s winning ways as he would grab the early lead from outside of row one. A restart on lap thirteen would prove the difference as Bedenbaugh would make the outside work and move past Cameron to claim the lead. Once in control of the field the 2010 Late Model Champion showed the field a familiar sight that being the back of his car and soon pulling out to a comfortable margin. Brandon Cameron would settle for second with Clay Bedenbaugh coming home third.

The Burkins Chevrolet Open Wheel Modifieds would be next on the speedway and Dave Barber was looking for two in a row. Starting on the pole Barber’s chances for a repeat were looking good but it was Donnie Hall who would take over the lead in the early going. As Hall was looking for his first victory in the Open Wheel Mods Steve Whitener would move to second and look for a way to wrestle the lead away from Hall. Thirteen would prove to be an unlucky number for Hall as he lost his drive shaft on lap thirteen. Whitener would inherit the lead and he too was looking for his first win in 2011. David Crews Jr. proved that driving mad can pay dividends. After being placed at the rear for his involvement in an early race tangle Crews stormed back through the field. As the white flag was being displayed Crews was able to move to the inside of Whitener. As the pair went side by side for the win Whitener slid up just enough in turn four to give Crews the advantage at the finish line. Ronnie Chance would also take advantage of the opportunity to edge Whitener for second.

With the Box Stocks finishing up the nights program Kevin Underwood would look to use his pole position starting spot to claim his familiar parking spot in the winners circle. Even though Underwood doesn’t need any help finding the front of a box stock field his starting spot would only mean he would get there earlier. With Underwood in control the race the battle for second would see Daryl Larson over Bobby Denard. Bryar Zimmerman would claim fourth with Brian Scott coming home fifth.

Next Saturday night its Easter Egg Hunt night with the Burkins Chevrolet Open Wheel Modifieds highlighting the nights action. Joining them will be Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks and Box Stocks. Racing action is scheduled for 7:00P.M.
